Goji Berries, Certified Organic, Raw, Sun-dried (from Tibet)

Wild-Grown and Wild-Harvested. Certified Organic, whole, sun-dried Goji Berries.

Wilderness Family Naturals' Goji Berries are gathered from plants growing in the mountains of Tibet. They are wild-grown, and wild-harvested. They are also certified organic by Integrity Services, International (ISI). The berries are dried naturally by the sun. They are not fumigated, sweetened, or adulterated in anyway.

Gogi Berries (Wolfberries from Tibet) are whole, naturally-sun-dried and are about the size of a raisin. They are not as sweet as raisins, but they are not as tart as sour cherries or cranberries. There is no fruit in the American diet, that I know of, that tastes similar to a goji berry but most people find them quite tasty.

Goji berries are bright red and the plants often reach 12 feet tall. The plants are found throughout China and Tibet. Some goji berries are grown in large plantations as a cultivated plant. This occurs mostly in China. Other goji berries are harvested in the mountains where they grow wild. Most wild grown goji are from Tibet, however, not all Tibetan goji are wild-crafted. Wilderness Family Naturals' goji berries have it all. They are wild-grown and wild-harvested from the mountain valleys of Tibet and they are also certified organic!

All goji berries sold in the United States are sold as a dried berry. The harvest occurs in the fall (October) and berries are sun-dried to preserve them, so they can be used until the next harvest. The lower the moisture content, the better their preservation. Goji berries readily re-hydrate when added to water. These berries are high in anti-oxidants and other important nutrients that are supportive to many different systems of the body.

Goji berries are considered to be one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet. Grown in fertile mountain valleys, they are rich in antioxidant carotenoids such as beta-carotene and Zeaxanthin. They contain B-complex vitamins, Vitamin C (500 times more than oranges), important polysaccharides and glycol-nutrients. These little berries contain more protein than whole wheat (they are 10% protein) and supply 19 different amino acids including all 8 essential amino acids. In addition, goji berries are loaded with many phytonutrients.
